Workshops Post Processing Video Tutorials The twisted gnarly rolls of sandstone bathed in indirect reflected light displaying one of the countless wonders of the sublime Colorado Plateau. My approach here was to let my LCD lead me to the composition. I am a huge advocate of (and teach to my workshop clients) taking the camera OFF the tripod and exploring the nearly infinite possibilities of a scene at hand. Here, experimenting with the Canon 14mmL2, as soon as I saw this composition I knew I liked it. Then the real trick (difficulty) was to get the tripod to match the precise position. The funny thing you will not notice here is that my private workshop client is in the middle ground around the left sandstone wall, getting his shot the opposite direction. I found this shot as I was getting out of his way! :) This is a 16 shot focus/depth of field stack at f/5.6 for enhanced detail from front to back. All techniques used are clearly taught on my various Post Processing Video Tutorials. If you like my work and adventure I should mention that I am a full time workshop guide (for over ten years now). Email me a request if you would like to be on my workshop notification list. MarkMetternich@gmail.com Feel free to follow me on FACEBOOK if you so choose.
