Image Teton Morning Grey from Aric-Jaye

During this visit to Grand Teton National Park, we had persistent grey skies. On this particular morning the sun briefly penetrated the clouds to create a wonderful glow on the peaks. It lasted for about 5 minutes; then it was grey, grey, grey all day. The tallest peak, Grand Teton, is 13,775 feet (4,199 m) above sea level. Grand Teton abruptly rises more than 7,000 feet (2,100 m) above the Jackson Hole Wyoming valley , almost 850 feet (260 m) higher than Mount Owen, the second-highest summit in the range. The park has numerous lakes, including 15-mile-long (24 km) Jackson Lake.
