Thorsmork Mountain Reserve Iceland This was taken from the Valahnukur lookout - a small 400m hill near the entrance to Thorsmork mountain reserve yet 400m seemed high when we had just done the Laugavegur the preceding 4 days with lots of side trips! The dust was as the result of volcanic ash being stirred up in large quantities from the preceding Eyjafjllajokull eruption which occurred a few months prior to our visit. It meant that the usual access bridges had been destroyed along the river Krossa below.
